It is with great pleasure that CIDAL announces the appointment of Jorge G. Guerra, M.D., as Director Business Development, effective January 02, 2014. Dr. Jorge Guerra received his M. D. from the University Peruana Cayetano Heredia (UPCH), School of Medicine, Lima, Perú. He pursued further post-graduate training at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London, U.K. Upon his return to Perú, he was Attending Physician, Associate Professor of Medicine and clinical investigator at UPCH. In 1984 he joined Merck Research Laboratories where he assumed several positions of increasing responsibility up to Vice President Clinical Research Operations, Global Trials Management until his retirement in 2008. In 2008 he joined Biogen Idec in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as Senior Vice President Global Clinical Development Operations, where he was responsible for Clinical Trial Management, Clinical Data Management, Clinical Business Operations, etc.
At the time of his retirement in March 2013 from Biogen Idec, the company was ranked as top sponsor in Center Watch’s Global Sponsor and Investigator Site Relationship Survey. Jorge brings to CIDAL a wealth of clinical research development and operational experience. The incorporation of Jorge to CIDAL will be a catalyst to accelerate our operations in Latin America where we will be competing at a regional level with medium and large size Contract Research Organizations (CROs). CIDAL’s unparalleled track record to deliver upon its commitments, both in quality and enrollment will be leveraged by Dr. Guerra to fulfill our objectives for growth.
